Organizational.

It's four more days to Chinese New Year!!
Nothing really much to get excited about though...
Especially when it's Week Three of school too and tutorials are starting already.

Week Two was similar to Week One, a bit of trying to do something and a lot of doing nothing.
There are still several significant events worth mentioning though.
Shall go by chronologically as usual and see what comes up.

Monday was simply one lecture; not sure what I did after that though hmm.
Ohh went to library to find Vincent and Hui Min to study after lecture, then Vincent sent me back to UTown at 5plus where I continued to study for quite a while more at bux with Chan.
Probably the only and most productive day throughout the week.
And the work accomplished was one chapter of developmental psychology, the first chapter.

Yes just the first chapter.
But whatever.

Went back at like 7plus for dinner and then checked out the tutorial balloting results, got all I wanted although my timetable still seem screwed up even in that case.
Well I don't really have a choice now, just gotta stick with it for the rest of the semester and make the best out of it.

Tuesday morning was basketball session with Wan Kei and Chwan Rong, as well as a few others from CAPT who are participating in the ICG as well.
It was probably why I manage to be in the team though I missed out on the trials that was conducted on Thursday, luckily the captain came down to play on Tuesday with us as well.
Then it was lunch followed by going over to arts to read up on my IEM readings before heading back for IEM.
IEM is seriously no joke sigh.
Met Zhang Wang after that to sell him my PL2131 textbook and also dinner together at CAPT.
And without any plans after that, I was just lost and gone throughout the night.
Slept for like an hour plus and then didn't manage to accomplish anything either before going to bed late at night.

PL2132 lecture on Wednesday, then lunch followed by a trip to the library to wait for Jerome so that I can buy the MKT textbook from him.
Met Jasper on the way, rare occasion so dragged him to the library where we just lepaked and watched YouTube videos for quite some time, some magical math-related channel.
Went back to Deck to meet Jerome for the book and Shi Kai came by after his lecture ended.
And out of nowhere Chan and Velda appeared with a small red velvet cake for Jerome to celebrate his birthday.
Wow just cool.
Continued to chill around Deck for a while more before Jerome went for his lecture with his friend and Velda finally passed the flag shirt to me.
Went to the library with Chan even though I wasn't in the mood to study at all, but just really couldn't think of anything else to do.
Ohh and Alan is back in Singapore and in NUS that day!
He was in arts but headed to UTown to find Jia Hao already though, so since I was already in the library I might as well do something, and then I went to print out all my stuff notes slides etc.
Went back to UTown after that and finally met Alan omg.
After all these years.
Like around 8 years at least since I last saw him?
And almost 10 years after we graduated from Pri Sch.
Just 10 years ago we were only preparing for our PSLE still, how time flies...

Lepak in the lounge and then shifted to JH's room until 6plus before deciding to head out for dinner.
Was trying to contact CK all the while and finally we got out after confirming with him where to meet up for dinner.
Went to Plaza Sing and had dinner at Ambush, hmm just alright I guess, not exactly great but still okay.
Then we walked out a bit for Rochor Beancurd as dessert after dinner.
And following that was dessert round 2 at Merely Ice-Cream.
Then it was finally time to head home as we split from Alan and took MRT to I forgot where and then taking bus all the way back to UTown.
Went to run with JH after that and then chill on top of ERC before finally going back to sleep and to get ready for the long day the next day.

8am MKT lecture on Thursday.
Even though I slept at 2plus, the prof was so interesting that I was able to stay awake throughout the lecture.
Seems like I really gotta try hard to do well for this module.
Then it was just chilling at Deck with Melvin and Aizhen 'cause it doesn't seem like any of us can do any work anyway, I think.
Or probably just because I really wanted to just stay around there and do nothing.
Natalie came by at around 11 and we had lunch together before she went for lecture, Melvin went to set up his Psych Camp Interview at CLB and Aizhen and I just went to Forum.
And a while after trying to do work we soon realize that nothing is gonna get done anyway.
Also there's the NUS Boxing Exhibition Match so we watched for quite a while too.
Went for lecture at 2pm and after that accompanied Aizhen for a while before her interview and then went back to UTown.
Repacked my bag and headed out to try and study for a while before meeting the rest for dinner before going Teoheng yay.
And the rest basically means the seniors, just because the other two Year 1s ended up deciding to not go for it.
But well it's okay I'm more or less used to hanging out with the seniors anyway.
Had fun for the night before Vincent sent me back to UTown.
Probably didn't do anything at all after that as well and then it's bedtime again.

Fri woke up in time to have breakfast before breakfast time is over, really almost wanted to just sleep in but that's just too much time wasted and money wasted as well on the meal plan.
Got out of UTown to do my IEM readings at CLB and I still spent much time doing random stuff before actually reading the article.
Lunch with Mervin, Vincent, Zai and Amirul and then basically just sat at Deck talking doing nothing much chilling out until time's up and I'm supposed to head back to UTown.
Then it's finally the class I've been waiting for the whole day and the whole week actually and school's done for the week!
Had dinner just after that before going up and doing nothing much again, then having a second dinner at around 9pm.
Got back up and started cleaning and packing up my room, took a shower and just waited for Dad to pick me up as usual.
Got home, TV, blah blah blah.

Yesterday was another day burnt on Scouting, went to HQ for the Pilot Programme Workshop 1 which ended at about 5pm.
Came back to the east and went to walk a little at Bedok Mall in a quite last minute attempt to shop for CNY clothes.
Nothing much there so came back to Tampines to spend my UrbanWrite voucher on this little nice awesome notebook for the new year ahead.
Actually it's more like too expensive than nothing much, but well anyways...
Same case in Tampines as well.
Just no sale on pants when pants is the very thing I'm looking for.
Got home, dinner, did nothing as usual, DotA with RW and then supper time as well as 小资女孩向前冲 time.
The drama really became a staple of my time at home.
Missed one episode last Sat due to Scouts though arghh...

Supposed to do my reading and first draft for IEM Paper 1 today.
Ended up still haven't read anything yet now.
But I sort of organized myself better.
Brainstormed for quite a while on how to really make good use of my new little nice notebook and I hope I will carry on doing what I'm supposed to do with it and make use of it.
Read up on it as well as Microsoft OneNote in an attempt to utilize OneNote.
Still a little bit unclear on how I can really maximize its functions though, as well as don't know why is it not syncing well.
Not sure how OneNote 2010, OneNote for Windows 8.1, as well as OneNote mobile for Android can work altogether but shall figure my way out.
For now at least my OneNote 2010 on my laptop is doing well and totally seems like a damn fine way to organize and sort my school work out.
After importing all my ppt slides, notes and stuff, it's just like whatever is in my Dropbox folder is categorized nicely as they are, in a virtual notebook that I can browse through and view easily anytime.
The problem is syncing it with my desktop and my phone, but hopefully it works out fine.
Getting organized is possibly one of the most underrated yet extremely helpful thing that can aid in your productivity.
Instead of thinking how to do more work, how to motivate yourself etc, getting organized is possibly the first step in helping yourself know what you need to do, what you want to do, how to do it, and stuff like that.
Powerful huh.

Anyways, it's getting late and I've yet to shower, eat, pack, and it's gonna be book-in time soon.
Ohh and I've yet to do my IEM too.
Gotta really chiong that later on, not really keen to leave it till tomorrow either.

May this week be a great week for all, and let's prepare to celebrate Chinese New Year!

Readiness.

First week of school finally over; or more like second week of school is going to start soon.

And here I sit before my computer in my room, doing nothing except wondering about things not worth wondering about.
Wasting time that is not meant to be wasted.

Somehow Sem2 just seems tougher than Sem1, already there is work to do just after a week has passed.
Not sure if it's just because I'm taking IEM instead this semester, if there were Scouts stuff and fledgling week stuff to settle lately, or that things are really getting tougher.

Feels weird to be back in school.
So different, so strange; as if everything's change when everything's almost the same.
I guess I just gotta get used to it again.
And I guess soon it's gonna be time for library camping again as well.
Tons of readings to complete, not sure how I'm gonna survive this semester.
The temptation to simply deciding to S/U IEM seems so high though because it will allow me to focus more on my four other modules.
Still, it will be good if I can score well enough so as to include more modular credits in my calculation of CAP.

Just waiting to go back to CAPT then gonna do my IEM and perhaps other work.
Really no mood to do anything at all now, even when I'm not doing anything at all.

I hope for an awesome semester 2 for every one of you out there.

Over this weekend.

Ended up not doing much for the past few days too.

Can't really recall what I did for Mon and Tue, only remembered that I met up with Chandan and Owl on Mon night, then Chandan again, together with Gorilla, Mr Mak and Mr Ong on Tue night.
Scouts stuff.
Many people give us that look and question us when they realize that we are still committed to Scouting and helping out the Troop.
And even ourselves sometimes doubt our passion and willingness to help; to quote Chandan, "we're getting too old for this".

It's not really about getting too old; I think, we can never be too old to be involved in Scouting, but perhaps we have to change our mentality, the way we approach it, and stuff like these.
Not sure how to put it, but somehow Scouting changed our lives, and now we are just giving back by doing all we can so that the next generation benefits from Scouting the same way we did.
Of course, we don't get appreciated all the time, and what we do don't work all the time.
Meerkat always says to experiment and find your leadership style, find out how you can lead others, and find out what works best for you.
But when we are so lost at times and there are no one to guide us, looking at how the situation is, how much more can we still experiment with?
Things seem to be improving though, with Dolphin stepping up as the new DC, Grizzly seemingly coming back to help more, and of course Owl also constantly available to advise.
Maybe just one more year.
Give ourselves this one more year to see if we can really do anything at all.
It's the 20th anniversary too; although I'm not really sure what we can do to commemorate.
We are not in a good shape financially as well, tons of things waiting to be improved and tons of things still going downhill.
I'll be really happy if the school just allow us to hold a campfire for our 20th anniversary, and I'm ready to take out the time and effort to organize it.
June Camp as well, since I sort of owe Chandan one when I decided to skip Ubin for PLC Hike.
All thanks to my IPPT... haiz but whatever.
Really wanted to just get over to Ubin for a "mini getaway" before school starts thought.
And if everything goes well I can foresee a really busy summer for myself.
June Camp. Campfire. Arts Camp. Arts O Week.
And I honestly think that I should go and work and get some income to make up for whatever money I've been spending for the past don't know how long.
And possibly even more stuff to come.
Summer school? Possibly next semester.

We were just talking about it just now too.
Went out with Vincent and peeps to Teoheng at NTU Alumni Club.
Long trip to and fro but I guess I'm getting used to travelling, even though I don't have to travel this way everyday.
And I'm only getting used to travelling on non-peak hours too so...
Really can't imagine how my life will be from Year 3 onwards.
But anyways, they were just talking about summer school, and it really seems like its benefits outweighs SEP.
Of course SEP has got its own pros too, alongside with its cons such as costs and all.
Aside from being less expensive, and taking up less time (although it's during your summer break, something like special sem SEP), going for summer school can possibly cut you one mod per sem for three sems on while it's usually tough to map five mods for SEP (or so I heard, depending on your mods and major I guess), resulting in you having to overload after coming back from exchange.
Then again, it's really not something I can consider for this summer seeing how much things I have on my plate even before sem 2 starts.

Ohh, and fledgling week too.
Haven't even put anything solid down on paper, or rather, on the Word document when we are gonna have a meeting on next Tue.
Biggest thing to really think about is probably the theme that starts with letter 'T' though.
Activities and programme wise... surely I can think of something after so many years of being not just camp participants, but camp organizers as well.
More of the latter than the former in recent years, hence the joy in participating in Arts O Week.
Sigh being a freshie is a one-time thing though, gonna miss that and feel old when I go for Arts Camp or O Week this coming year.

That's already five events to work for over the summer.
Not sure how involved will I get for the Arts stuff though, can see myself playing a smaller role in Arts Camp due to it being in June together with June Camp and possibly a larger role, perhaps even OGL if possible for Arts O Week.
Will be good to be able to try out for OComm too, maybe next year but that's still long so see how.
Funny how such things are the stuff many of us (or maybe just my OG seniors since they're the seniors I interact with most) look forward to when they don't exactly have a direct effect in our results or academics.
They do more or less have a large effect on our uni lives though so I guess it really matters a lot.

Anyway did some cleaning and tidying up on Wednesday.
Another day lived in self-isolation when I switched off my phone from the moment I woke up until night time.
It's really good to enjoy the feeling of it.
But really sorry if by doing so I've caused any trouble for anyone for those trying to contact me or what.
I think it's really something I'll like to do often in the future though so please get my house number from me if you think you would have something urgent to contact me for, 'cause when that happens my house phone will be the only way to contact me.
Then again I think to myself too, if it's just a way for me to escape from the world and from everything because I just couldn't take it?
But I guess at a certain point of time, all of us will need some time away from the world, some time alone, and just some time to do our own stuff and live for ourselves.
It's really important to be able to do all these.
After all, we come to this world alone, and alone we will leave this world as well.
Not saying that we should be selfish and live for ourselves, but one should be able to not depend on others for support when the time calls for it.
And as much as I love technology and interaction with people (more with text than face-to-face), sometimes I do see the need to get away from both of them.
Reading books is a good way but I'm just too freakin' lazy to even pick up a book.
Taking the time to tidy up my room and house is just a great thing to do, not just for my own state of mind but for my Mum too since I'll be helping her out.
Furthermore, CNY is coming and there is really a lack of time in tidying up our house.

Still gotta tidy up my room in CAPT and settle in again.
Really stupid to have to check-out then in again within an academic year with just a month of vacation separating the two semesters.
And I really wanna get those standing vacuum I would really vacuum my room every single day if I have that and even vacuum my house everyday too.
I think I'm actually someone who likes things to be organized, neat, tidy and just looking good.
Too bad my laziness overcome any of those and obviously I became nowhere near organized and neat.
Similar problem to how perfectionism can easily breed procrastination.
I hope that I'm slowly overcoming these problems though through understanding the simple fact that as much as I like to be prepared, plan ahead, and not jump into things without thinking through properly, sometimes the action simply have to come before the plan.
If not, there will never be any action just because there is no plan good enough for us to take action.
A really important fact to me, something I somehow realized rather recently I would say.

Anyways, first Scout meeting of the year tomorrow.
With the new PLC away on Sec 3 camp though, there will only be the Sec 4s and 2s remaining.
Hopefully we can do something about the wreck the store had became.

Okay time to end this post.
I should try to blog like twice per week or even more instead of just once per week.
That will allow me to record more stuff too since I can probably remember things better that way as compared to only trying to recall everything that happens in the past week after I get home every weekend.

Byeall.

Still new for now.

Almost a week into the new year.

So is the new year still considered new? Relatively so I believe.

Okay enough being lame.

Been a rather interesting year so far.
Went for a hike route recce with Chandan Terry RW last Wednesday night, which is the first night of 2014.
A planned short two hours recce turned out to be a night hike we've been intending to have since that very hike that bonded us so tight back in December 2006, albeit short of two people.
Finally bus to Yishun at 8plus and RW just came in time to catch the bus.
Reached at around 9pm and started to walk to the start point.
Wrong decision to let Chandan lead us...
Spent 50 minutes or so walking a big round before finally reaching the start point.

And that's when the fun just only began.
Started walking the exact hike route for PLC Hike 2014, and eventually we started to walk on this super long stretch of road connecting from Yishun to Punggol.
Took us quite some time but our pace was good and eventually we reached Marina Country Club, the supposed Checkpoint 1.
From then on it's just a short distance to the next Checkpoint, Punggol Jetty.
And it's there we had our first and in fact only break throughout the hike and ate the snacks that RW had with him.
Black sesame eggroll. Nice.

Continued our journey and by then it was about 12am already.
Next part is arguably the most fun part of the hike. having to walk along the coastline and on gravel road instead of proper pavements with no lighting at all for about 5km to the next checkpoint.
It was tough, demoralizing and just plain creepy to be walking there past midnight.
Finally reached the bridge at Punggol Waterway, supposedly our last Checkpoint for the night.
But... since there's no bus we still have to walk all the way out to home.
And even if we wanted to hail a cab, there's no cabs to be seen around in that area after all.
Bottom line is, the hike goes on.
And the life lesson is, what might seems to be the end might not be the end.

So on the longgggggg way out, a police car passed by us and stopped for a routine check.
And after some hesitation we decided to just ask if they might be able to give us a lift to at least the main road.
Then we got rejected...
Now tell me how often do you see people getting rejected by police?
I dare say that we might be the first among our friends to have this experience.
Not like it's something that people would be very proud of but still...

Anyways so after getting the interesting encounter, we had to continue walking all the way out to the main road.
And as we walked the idea of supper and this and that came up.
When we reached the cross junction though, we decided to just go over to the petrol kiosk and buy something to eat and chill for a while before continuing to walk home.
Had sandwich, ice cream and a drink from the vending machine at the residents' corner that we chill at under some void deck.
Took us a bit more time but we all finally reached back home after this long journey and fun hike.

Best part, RW did the hike in slippers.
Please applaud him for being a true legend.
And other than complaining and wanting to go home, the next thing he did most was to suggest what we should do the next day.
Well the bowling and basketball that he mentioned countless times through the hike didn't happen, but I still met up with him and Terry for "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty".
A really nice show.
Had dinner at the shabu shabu at TMall basement after that before going home.

Friday was the start of PLC Hike.
But since my presence was more of a bonus, good to have but not absolutely necessary kind, I decided to just drop by later and see what happens.
So I went to meet Freddy for lunch since I supposedly couldn't meet the class on Sat.
Hang out for a while, lepak at his house and played some PS3 before heading down to NAS.

Nothing much for me to do so I took on the role of the camp photographer.
Programme was delayed by quite a bit and by 9plus the Scouts finally got off to the Start Point.
Waited for Mr Mak to come pick us up and to send us to the Start Point after that.
Was District AGM that day as well, and surprise surprise, Dolphin is now officially our new DC.

Anyways we sent the Scouts off on their hike and headed over to Jalan Kayu for supper.
Mr Hazmi came over to join us soon after.
Went to their first checkpoint, Marina Country Club to wait for them and Grizzly came over too with Owl and Gorilla.
Had wanted to just stay for a while but then I sort of already realized that I'll most probably stay overnight... when I gotta take IPPT on the next day sigh.

Next checkpoint is Punggol Jetty.
Stopped there for quite a while and then it was decided that we will wait at the next checkpoint for the Scouts and that Mr Hazmi will send me home once the boys arrived.
Well, that never really quite happened the way we wanted it to.

Waited really long before we thought that we should backtrack to look for the boys.
So Grizzly, Owl, Gorilla, Chandan and I started walking back and it wasn't long before Gorilla's legs gave way and we lost him.
After quite some time we finally got a vague idea of where the Scouts might be and we actually walked one big round, at least for 45minutes, possibly 4km or more, just to find the Scouts.
Freakin' burden.
Anyways they were actually already close to the checkpoint, and close to dying as well.
We went back to the bridge to wait for their arrival while deciding what to do next with them since it's quite clear that they will not be able to carry on with the hike.
And so we decided to just send the Scouts back to NAS to rest before proceeding with Ubin.
Then it was the fun part when we tried to come up with the transport plan.
3 cars, 9 Scouts, 2 teachers, 5 leaders of which 4 are going home.
Took us a while and some discussion before the conclusion that Grizzly will ferry all of us home, Mr Mak will take 3 Scouts back first and then return to take the rest of the Scouts back with Mr Hazmi.

Finally got home at 7plus, slept at 8am when I had to take IPPT at 4pm at Maju Camp zzZ.
Woke up and luckily Dad offered to send us there.
As expected, 5 points for all except 2.4km and a Silver.
Could've gotten 5 points for 2.4km too but I walked for a distance in the last lap since my timing was around 8m43s by 5th round and it was fairly obvious that an average person won't be able to run 400m in 1 minute after running 2km.
Felt like trying again in two months' time or so after training for it though, now that I can see that my stamina is still fairly well maintained and not cui like shit.
My year 0 was close to 11mins so at least now I know that I managed to not deteriorate further.
Shall see how though.

And then came my toughest decision in life, at that time.
After RW pangseh me and got into his Dad's car, I had to travel alone all the way back to the East, rush to Changi Jetty and possibly take the ferry alone and walk to Mamam Beach alone.
That's tons of time and money and effort that could've been channeled to elsewhere more useful.
At the same time my JC class was close to finishing their movie, so it was very possible that I join them for dinner as well.
To spend so much effort just for a night a Ubin, or to meet my friends whom I've not seen in quite a while, and be able to stay home for the night?
Tough decisions.
Still decided to just ditch Ubin though.
Got off at Kallang to really think it through once more before hopping onto the train towards Joo Koon.
Alighted at City Hall, waited for Yi Ern before walking over to Esplanade to meet up with the rest.
Walked around quite a while to find a place to eat before settling at Nam Nam, the Vietnamese food restaurant at the "newly renovated" Suntec.
Well it was already done quite a while ago I believe, I just haven't got to Suntec since it was renovated and it just looked so new and different to me.

Went over to chill at SMU after dinner till 11plus and then MRT back to Simei to take bus 9 home.
Reached back 12plus.
Ohh and I just realized that this was just last night.
Don't know how I managed to clock such a long post with just five days into the year but hopefully that this is a good start to the year of 2014 and a sign of better things to come.
Did nothing much today though.
But still there's something worth mentioning.
Woke up to watch Running Man with Mum and Sis before simply sitting in front of my computer again, as usual.
Then CJ messaged to meet up so I just went to meet him since it's really been a long time since I get to catch up with him.
Hopefully from now on I'll see him more though, either in school or what, since he's staying in TH anyways and there's always a chance for supper and stuff.
Had dinner at Tmart and got to just talk cock with him before heading back home again.
Got home at 8plus, watched TV a while, nothing much since then.
But felt so sleepy all of a sudden at 10pm or so and went to lie on the bed for a while; ended up sleeping for an hour and woke up at 11 to eat my supper.

It's 4am now and I should probably sleep soon.
The holiday had been not bad, managed to really meet up with quite a number of people whom I've not met for a while, and also to just go out, relax, nua at home etc.
Still didn't sketch though, other than the ones I do for my #wordoftheday project.
Getting somewhat lazy about it though, hope that I can persevere on when school starts.
Really thinking if I should pick the words from myself or some other sources or ways though, since Merriam-Webster is an American site and only updates their Word of the Day at 12pm GMT+8.
This means that I'm usually only updating my posts at the end of the day.
And if I pick my own words I can at least sketch in advance if I know that I might be too busy to do so or what, and just queue the posts up so that I can still post daily without disruptions.
Shall see how things go.
I feel like I should start another project on something else and somewhere else too, either on tumblr or what.
Tumblr side blogs aren't easy to manage though.
And instead of thinking of all these, I should simply just go back to basics and just sketch and sketch and sketch and seek to improve myself.
Speaking of all these though, reminds me that I should probably consolidate the movie tickets collected since the last time I archived them properly in my book and update it soon.
And possibly decorate its cover by somehow wrapping it nicely too.
Well exactly one week left should give me enough time to do so.
Already tidy and cleaned up my room too, except for certain areas which I still hope to tidy up before school starts since I would probably have no time to do anything about it from then on till CNY, which is actually just three weeks' time.

Everything is just happening so quickly.

And I'll just have to sleep soon to wake up fresh tomorrow so I can do some real work and finish up what I gotta finish up before this precious holiday ends.

Byeall.

Goodbye 2013; Hello 2014.

Had wanted to blog before I went out for dinner just now, but forgotten.

Stayed home yesterday and had dinner at Liang Court just now.
Nothing much else to say to round up my 2013; but I shall now try and do a full 2013 review before I sleep for the first time in 2014.

Started off the year feeling not-too-bad about it having just ORDed a month earlier.
Also started off the year going back to the Troop more to help out, taking up the ASL role as well.
Would consider it a really good use of my free time after ORD, although as the days go by I might have been able to benefit more or so-called gain more by involving myself in other things, or simply working.
I know that I would definitely have been to gain much more income by just working though, but that's another point.

That would go on all the way, but in March I finally took up a part-time job; just a six days temporary staff at OCBC, Woodlands branch.
I haven't been banks regularly, and it's not like I'm very interested in banking or in working in banks either, but I would like to say that I've learnt quite a bit about banking, customer service and such in that short period of time.
Appreciation is truly a very important aspect in our lives.
And it's usually what keeps us going on as well; feeling appreciated really helps you to lessen the pain or suffering and pushes you on in whatever you're doing because you know that people do recognize your efforts.

Job Week Camp during March as well; and that's the start of how things crumble.
2013 might be quite a great year for me in my opinion, but definitely not a very good one for the Troop.

Come April and it's time I turn adult.
Adulthood doesn't feel much different from being a teenager; then again I guess it's because that I'm still a student.
Just four months later it's gonna be 22 already, time indeed flies and we are all growing up.
Really grateful for my brothers coming down to my void deck to celebrate the last moments of my birthday with me, as I spent the day at home just like how I usually spent my birthday.
Even though I haven't really touch their present since that night... but well guess I'll still try to utilize it somehow and not let it go into waste.
As much as I like to make use of technology to make things easier and increase efficiency, I'll still prefer traditional media in many cases and this just happen to be one of it.
Even my sketches are simply in black and white, no colours.
But well things change and people grow, perhaps it's time I add more colours in my sketches, art and in my life from now on.

May and June are just all about Scouting as well; with the Annual June Training Camp and DPC both in June.
It's quite an experience, I wouldn't say that it's a good one, but still in everything we learn and we grow.
A bad experience doesn't mean that it's not a useful one.

Tried invigilating for MJC's midyears too.
It's not easy to wake up early again after having an extremely screwed up sleep cycle since ORD.
The period when I worked at OCBC wasn't easy as well, but also made me realize that it's something I can adapt to if I really force myself to do it.
Invigilation is a much more boring job, it helps that it is easy though.
But doesn't help that almost everyone was from MJC, same batch, and that I don't know everyone else.
Talked to some people a bit during that period of time, but no real friends made, no really real things learnt, other than the money I think that I perhaps gain nothing out of it...
Still not too bad experience I guess, got to try out how it feels like to be on the other side of the examination hall.

Then when July comes, it's just a month to school as summer comes to an end.
Well there isn't really obvious seasonal changes in Singapore but whatever.

It's the last month to do what I want and well, I didn't really do anything big or what; it's still Scouting, and, I guess nothing much else really.
Got my reply from CAPT at the last minute on the night before my Arts Orientation Week; so relieved that my accommodation at NUS is secured and that there's no 3,4 hours wasted in commuting to and fro daily.

Went for Arts O Week and I'm really glad to say that I was in S1.
Met many new friends and although I don't hang out with everyone all the time, I can say that there are many who I'll consider as friends or even good friends who will stay so in years to come.
Okay maybe too early to say but I believe the times we shared during the camp is gonna be one of the best times in our university lives.
Best OG, AGAIN, after having gotten the title back in JC.
JC's OG wasn't that tight though, so I'd really hoped that we can stay close as one OG in time to come for S1.
Really really happy to be in this OG with this bunch of people.

But good times come to an end, and after a few days' break it's time for school.
School, after close to three years of not studying.
It's tough, and I tried, and it really wasn't easy.
Or I just haven't been trying hard enough.

I really thought that I studied like I never had during this semester as compared to any of the previous times in school, but somehow it wasn't enough.
It's okay though, we've got seven more semesters coming up and it's time to really do things right now that I get a little more comfortable with life as a university student.
3.5 is a not too bad but not good enough CAP; and from now on I should only see numbers higher than that, much higher than that.

Read my January posts from the past two years.
2012 was just simple because I was still in army and I still had to be in army for 11 more months.
2013 was just a review of my life in 2SIR and finally ORD since that's all my year was about.
No so-called New Year Resolutions, what else can I hope for when I was still in army; and what else can I not hope for when I had just ORDed?

Really didn't want to do this, but I guess no harm just listing down some stuff and maybe at the end of this year coming back to read this post again to laugh at myself and see how many things I've left unchecked on the list...

=*=*=*=*= NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS =*=*=*=*=

Get CAP 5.0; or at least 4+++.
Basically study hard, find out what aspects of Psychology really interests me most, and get superb results for my tests and exams.

Keep fit; or rather, get fitter.
Exercise, exercise, and exercise more. Play basketball, run, whatever.

Sleep early; okay sleep earlier as compared to how late I've been sleeping. Not gonna start the year right by sleeping early though seeing how things are going now.

Continue to catch up with old friends and maintain all my friendships.

Spend more time with family especially my parents.

Sketch more, do more art, create; basically continue to express myself the way I want to and hopefully come up with something that can harness my interests.

And learn more and improve, definitely.

Work and earn $$$ during my break.

Be a damn good OGL for Arts O Week, or at least a damn good senior.
Also conduct Fledgling Week to the best it can be.

Help out the Troop more, in whatever ways I can afford to.

To be the best that I can be.
