So it's over.
Semester 1 of my uni life is now over.
And what else is there to look forward to other than the start of semester 2?
Didn't have the mood to blog although I would really like to note down what's been happening while I was at home; well, alone in my room now at 1.44am and wanting to sleep but knowing that I won't be able to fall asleep just gave me the right opportunity to blog.
Continuing from the last post...
Chinese Studies was a total wreck I guess.
Somewhat expected, just hope that the results will come out as a pleasant surprise instead of a complete disappointment.
Already rather mentally prepared about my sem1 results though.
Went for 2SIR ORD function that night.
Pretty nice seeing everyone, commanders and men alike, the whole battalion gathered together to celebrate the end of the mono, and of course, the impending ORD of all the NSF.
And still Bravo had the most first year comds attending the function.
There's just something we can't explain about being so attached and bonded despite how frequent people like to complain 'bout being in Bravo, about our OC, about NS and stuff.
Coincidentally Chan and Zai were in Shagri-La for their company buffet event thing too.
So met up for a while, took some photos and stuff.
Really too bad that I didn't get to take more photos with the men and all though.
Well all of them had came a long way to reach here, and I'm sure they became better men and will do well in their lives after army.
So Psych on Tuesday.
Did some last minute studying which sort of didn't really help much either.
MCQ was rather alright, especially if I'm lucky.
SAQ didn't look that good though.
Totally didn't know if what I was writing is what they're looking for or not.
B- isn't a problem, but I'll really hope for an A to pull my CAP up.
And the following three days was supposed to be intense studying for Social Work which up till then I haven't been studying reading revising at all.
Key words: supposed to be.
And that means it didn't went that way.
Time spent on studying; a lot.
Actual studying and studying efficiency; as low as ever.
No motivation either, even when I clearly know that I gotta do well to not screw up my CAP further.
Not even hoping to pull my CAP up with it, just hoping that it doesn't lower it any more.
Even with that I can't bring myself to study hard enough for it.
And comes the paper on Sat, all I can think of is how I'll finally get to ball again after the paper.
The paper was not manageable at all.
Essay questions came out unexpected topics and I just had to make do with the limited amount of knowledge I have.
Really praying hard that I'm super lucky enough to score on the MCQs though, but seriously, just getting 60+ for this paper should be relatively good already.
Or maybe even 50.
Combine that with how I only got a B- for my assignment which contributes 25%, boom.
Not that I wish for others to fall, but hoping that many would do worse or at least as bad as me is the only chance I have at getting a decent grade.
I'll just be glad if I don't see a 2 in front of my CAP for this sem.
Went home Saturday night feeling I don't know what to feel.
Seriously.
Finals is over but I guess if you didn't put in effort for what you're going through, you just won't get the sense of satisfaction when it ends.
Rather the sense of relief is what I probably felt.
Okay that sounded eerily similar to something I've said at one point of time in the past, be it some exams or what, I think.
But that's just how I've been doing things anyway.
Always trying to scrap through, doing the bare minimum, doing what's enough to just carry on with life and never putting in everything I've got.
Ironic I know, for a Scout who's supposed to be the best that one can be.
Anyways, visited NPC Open House on Sunday.
Really great that Dolphin and Grizzly decided to drop by as well, giving us a free ride to Sarimbun.
Stayed with Marcus for the campfire after Chandan went back with them to study for his paper the next day.
It's actually the first time I've been to NPC.
It always feels good to be back at Sarimbun though.
Really feels good.
Campfire was just so-so, but being in Sarimbun, around the fire pit, seeing 53 troops together with everybody else, old or young, that's what mattered most.
And campfire is still campfire; Scouts love campfires.
Announcement of results was delayed though, heavily.
And we somehow gotten Bronze, which is really a bonus.
Got out immediately after everything ended since Dad was already waiting outside for us.
It's just so great to have an awesome Dad like him to be able to come pick me up all the way at Sarimbun even after ending work so late and even to send Marcus and Owl home.
Then Monday is just stay home time for me.
Did nothing much.
Hopefully it's not how I gonna spend my days throughout my vacation.
I'll really appreciate some days like this once in a while though.
Got back her in CAPT to stay for the last few days as well as to pack my stuff up.
Really freakin' dumb that even though we're staying for next sem as well we gotta bring out stuff home and check out by next Mon 12pm.
Next few days probably just gonne be basketball, stay in room watch shows, maybe going out at times if there's any chances, and I really don't know what else other than to sleep like I've not slept for a week.
Well the last thing sounded like a total waste of time though, shall try not to do that at all.
Then on the 18th it's trekking at Berkelah Falls with NUS Rovers.
Still gotta be back here on 10th for their briefing so mafan.
And how are we supposed to prepare for anything if the briefing is conducted just a week before the trek itself?
Shall see how it goes, and hope that I can survive the trek with my current fitness level.
And speaking of fitness, gotta clear my IPPT by December and I still don't think that I can run Gold timing for 2.4km but don't really feel like training too sigh.
I really wanna run for Gold though, not for the money, okay well the money's pretty important too, but also to be able to stay in the Gold IPPT Club.
I already dropped out of it for Year 0 IPPT though but whatever that's not official I didn't have to take it anyway so just work hard now for my Year 1 IPPT.
And there's still driving.
Sounds like I've got freakin' lots of things to do some are fun and some are not and I don't know where to start because I'm just getting the feeling that I've got tons of things to do but what I really want to do is just to lay there and wait for time to pass, hoping that things happen by themselves and every single problem will be solved miraculously.
That's not gonna happen though.
And this is when things pile up and you just wanna shut off from the world but you know it's impossible and you have nowhere to go.
Funny how finals are over but things just got even more complicated and when the future is uncertain you can only take a step at a time and hope that you don't fall somewhere and never be able to get up again.
Finals over is a good thing by itself, but sem1 over just means that 1/6 or 1/8 of my uni life is now gone and never coming back.
Maybe I think or worry too much at times, and yet doesn't do anything about it; but over-thinking is just one of the things I do best.
When I actually start doing things instead of simply thinking so much, things will be better.
Byeall.
