Sunsets; sunrises.

Been through another not-so-busy yet also not-too-free week.

After Job Week (Camp), basically had a few days of rest, finally, then again time to rush everywhere.

Well it's getting really early, and I haven't sleep at all.
I should really continue on this in details later on.

Spent just so much time and there was nothing else I could do about it.
Gotta refine my skills a lot more.

Then again I would really like to see my chances of getting accepted; definitely can't do with how I'm like now though if I were to really get in there.

Many things to do; prioritize appropriately is key.

Downtime.

Just finally got over with a tiring period of time.
Felt like everything just kept going on and on and there's no time to rest at all ever since I started work.
And that was so long ago considering I already stopped working for about two weeks already.

Well the past few days had been exceptionally busy though.
A camp that wasn't a camp; and many things to attend to.

Went down for Scouts' meeting again last Wednesday.
So many things happened since then that I can't even remember properly what we did.
Knots, some planning for Job Week etc.
Had PLC meeting only on the next day so that everyone can be present.
Dear SPL had classes till late and even got detention after that though.
And I wonder how did the meeting even started only after 5pm when the time set by them to me was 4pm.
My patience has got a limit man; considering how impatient of a person I am, I was already extremely patient for this period of time.

Well anyways so that's two days in a row of going down to NAS.

And guess what, I was down to NAS again on Friday; this time for its Founder's Day dinner.

19th Founder's Day.
Wow.
And I went down and sat alone at my table because it so happened that everyone else who was supposed to be at that table did not turn up.

PE teachers were nice enough to come by and keep me company though.
And after all the speeches, award presentations, performances, and not-too-bad food, it finally ended at 9plus 10.

Finally time to head down to Yi Gang's birthday party.
Seems like most people already started to leave by that time, but thanks so much to the few of them who stayed on and gave me the reason to drop by.
Had a good talk with them but everyone was turning sleepy real fast.
Finally cabbed home at 2plus and reached home at 3am.
Showered, slept, and woke up for basketball.

Maybe shouldn't have went for basketball at all.

Came back in the afternoon after dropping by tmall for a while, rested a bit, then off to NAS to prepare to receive the Scouts returning from Job Week.
Had some lessons and stuff, can't really do much, had a short debrief and then it's off to Fattah's birthday party.
Two birthdays to attend to in a row.
Stayed for a short while only before leaving; weren't there for the food or anything in particular anyways, just appreciate the invitation that I felt the very least I could do is to actually turn up in person.
Got back home and took some rest before the second day of the "camp".

Only went down school in the late afternoon, rained quite a bit before that.
Sky grew dark once more approaching evening time, drizzled for quite a while before it stopped.
At least we managed to have the campfire; albeit screwed up in the lighting up but still, we probably did what we can do...

Glad to see many of our seniors coming back, quite a number of them whom I didn't even see before.
Went to Teh Tarik for a drink and a short chat after the campfire before heading home again.

Got to NAS on Monday morning to be there to pass Wolf the stuff he needed.
Waited for Marcus to come and meet for lunch before going back to NAS to wait once more.
Wait and wait and wait.
Managed to settle some stuff finally at 4plus, then around 6 something had to happened.
An accident it was, but still it should not have happened.
Well, somtimes, shit happens and you can't do shit about it.
Still carried on with the camp for most parts and ending just before 10.
Headed down to CGH to take a look and then finally got home just before 12.

And so finally I can see myself really getting some free time now.
Adam Khoo's haven't got back to me yet too.

How do we go on from here?

So sick of seeing shit not getting done, so what am I supposed to do?
Easy to just say that I should start taking things into my own hand, but with many considerations and things to look out for, things just ain't getting any simpler.

Shall just do what I can, see through the rest, and hope for the best.

A step at a time; slowly but surely.

And so a week's past since I've ended on my job.
Haven't been productive since then.

Well, at least I got to Season 2 of Criminal Minds now.
Still got a long long way to go though.

More or less decided on FASS.

Yet there's still a small part of me which does not want to give up on the opportunity and possibility of studying Business, Advertising or Art.
A bachelor's degree in Psychology will possibly lead me to where I want to be, or at least to where would be the best for me though; at least that's what I'm hoping for now, having made the decision to stay in FASS to major in Psychology.

Haven't tried to really apply for scholarships, but really hoping that I'll at least get something.
Tuition fees really ain't a small amount of sum for me to just fork out, and why do so when there are alternatives like scholarships and bursaries to look to.

This week's pretty much packed, leading up to Job Week day camp.

Went to NAS on Saturday too to just build a shelter beside the woodshed.
And went for Denie's surprise birthday party over at his house.
Glad he was really happy about it man.

Three more birthday parties coming up just over these two weeks.

We are all turning old now, aren't we?

Then again, it's just growing up, we haven't seen it all to be able to claim that we are turning old.
Life's just starting for us and it's not gonna be an easy path ahead.

Ohyea, met Suting, Pan and Kenny last Saturday night too.
Went for dinner at some sushi place then back to the oh-so-familiar 201 once more at almost midnight to have a good long chat at the food centre.

We are really growing up man.
People I've known for years, and more to come, we are all changing constantly, changing to be able to adapt to our lives, the world, the people around us, which are in turn changing all the time as well.
How can we stop and remain the same with so much going on, everything around us changing all the time?

Humans are known for their ability to adapt.
As the most adaptable species in the world, I guess nothing much can stop us from evolving, learning, and of course changing to suit the needs of our environment.
Our environment referring to the situation we are in, the place, weather, time, everything.
Everything, including the people around us.

And I wonder if that ability to adapt is too good to be good at all.
Especially when different people possess different levels of ability to adapt.

Well all these are not me to find out for now.
Got much more relevant things to be thinking about at this time.

Scouts' meeting tomorrow, Founder's Day dinner on Friday, Job Week from Sat to Mon.
Yi Gang's birthday party on Friday, Fattah's birthday party on Saturday, and it's Heng Jing's one the following Saturday.
KY Sir's baby shower and Zhonghua campfire all on the following Sat as well.
And the same time District Survivor Camp is ongoing too.
Suddenly so much is happening around me.

And I would really like to do everything together; but it doesn't make sense that I don't get a job and start working as soon as possible until I start school because I have the time but not the money as of now.

One step at a time is all I can say.
Then again, I've grown to be someone who likes to plan, to plan further ahead and to know what's coming for me so I can get prepared for it.
So much that I don't feel comfortable going into something not fully prepared for.
Good and bad about it.
Probably just gonna slowly change myself into someone who's ready to receive surprises and accept the fact that I can't prepare for everything in life, definitely not physically, and in certain cases not even mentally.

To be prepared you probably have to have something to prepare for; and when you don't even know what's there to be prepared for, it's pretty hard to prepare for anything at all right?

As the most adaptable species in the world though, I can't see how tough it will be for me to change myself.
All it's gonna take is the heart to do it, effort, and of course, time.

Good thing I did so.

Woah had been quite a while since my last post.
And quite a number of things happened since then as well.
Where shall I start...

Went to Eunos last Monday for a short session with the AKLTG guy on working over there.
Haven't started anything yet since I won't be free these two weeks, but it's good that from now on I'll more or less have an idea of what I gonna do each week.
Finally booked BTT as well after deciding to start learning driving.

Yeah pretty much lagged behind everybody already but it's better late then never anyways.
And so my life from now till Uni will most probably circle around Scouting, driving and working at Adam Khoo's.
Hmm would probably be more interesting as well if I can get short assignments like the one I just completed every now and then to experience working at different places.
Would certainly help if it increases my income too hahah.

And as I've just said, I've finally completed my job at OCBC as a temporary ambassador.
Looking at my last post just reminded me of how I regretted at accepting this assignment and really looked forward to gaining anything out of it.
And now I can claim that it was indeed a damn good experience, even if it's just six days, and I've learnt quite a lot from it too.
Never been to banks more than few times in my life so far, and working in banks never floated up in my mind as a possible career at all.
But this six days really changed my views about banking industry and I do not even mind working for them again in the future.
Got to witness how good OCBC's customer service is, and while all these things which impressed me might be a little exaggerated by my own little to no knowledge about how bank works, I still gotta say that I really got my eyes opened through this job anyways.
Six days was a little short though; but don't think I can really work more than a week or two over there anyway.
Travelling to Causeway Point from Tampines every morning then back at night is no joke though I would love to have work for a few more days to learn even more.
Really glad that I took on this job and now that it's over, I am happy to say that I've learnt much from it and benefited much.

Scouts meeting tomorrow.
Been quite a while already since they had Common Tests last week.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a good session to train them up on their drills, prepare the Sec 1s for World Badge Test and the rest of the Troop to brush up their standards.

Ohyea and went to Jeremy Sir's son's birthday party chalet last Saturday too.
All the leaders were present except for the two overseas ones.
Quite a sight since it's really hard to get Dolphin and Grizzly to make their appearance nowadays.

Apart from all those, pretty much nothing else.
Wrote a letter of appreciation to the branch I worked at too; expressing your appreciation is something really important, and that is something I learnt from many past experiences as well.
And I believe that the branch will continue to perform well, don't know when will I ever go back to Causeway Point, and I'm not even an OCBC account holder, but all the best to them still.

Don't have to sleep so early now that I don't have to wake up before 9 every morning anymore; still, I shall try to sleep before 2 every night, and then eventually before 1 and finally to be able to go to bed before 12 every single night.
Hopefully by a month later I will be on bed at such time, barring any exceptions and exceptions which I hope to not occur more than once or twice a week.
Well and I just set a limit for sleeping late two times a week even though I really wanted to sleep early everyday.
Somehow I know that it's not exactly possible to accomplish though, especially after so long.

Well, shall get on tumblr then it's bed time for now!

Developmental.

Past few days had been fine, more of Scouting stuff again.
Especially when it was just Founder's Day two days back.

And with that I hope for the worldwide and Singapore Scouting movement to flourish even more in the future, advancing with modern society, as well as for all brother Scouts and sister Guides to continue enjoying the Scouting and Guiding process; hopefully to discover more about themselves while doing so.

Had been long since I attended a Founder's Day Parade.
And it was definitely good going back to Ngee Ann just to witness that.
Could have been better though...
Maybe I should have dropped by the rehearsals and up their standards; and also if only the new guy didn't bark around as if he's the boss.
Nevertheless, meeting went on smoothly, much better than I expected so it's good for now.

Good for now, but only having two Wednesday meetings before Job Week is not exactly the best situation we can be in; adding on to the fact that we won't have a Job Week Camp to work around with.

Times have changed.

Hope I'll be able to sort things out before Job Week; hopefully to have a realistic plan until at least June.
And then from June onwards we will be able to work things out towards NPC and stuff.
Yeah and NPC now automatically enters my mind after so much 'brainwashing' from the staff.

Wondering why am I doing so much now.

Especially so after reading Chandan's post.
Is it because I'm too free? Got nothing better to do?
I remembered since my days as the PLC, I've always regarded returning as a leader to support the Troop as a very natural thing for me to do in the future.
And thanks to people around me, whatever happened, I am just doing that right now.
I always thought that it would be a form of giving back to the Troop; it seems just like the correct thing to do considering how much Scouting has changed my life, and changed me as a person.

And at times I do wonder how would I be like now if I had not joined Scouting in secondary school.

The only answer is that my life would definitely be much, much different.
Not certainly to be different in a positive or negative way, but definitely a huge difference from now.
Even my army life would not had been the same.

But as I go along, sometimes it just seems that I'm doing things because of how much I would like to be in control of certain things and how much I would like to know about everything.

And this happens in army as well, and I'll always get people to update me of what's happening in camp all the time whenever I'm out of camp for various stuff.

And it sort of just stems from the distrust I have in people.
Not all people, just some people.
Or perhaps even most people; everyone except those I have a lot of trust in.

Sometimes I just cannot bear to let the others handle certain matters because of how I feel that I have to accomplish them by myself to ensure that things get done right.

Perhaps due to past experiences, not sure for what reasons too, but my mindset is somewhat fixed like this now.
Which is also why sometimes I prefer to do most things by myself and delegate tasks to people only when I know that there is almost 0% chance of screwing things up.

I got an idea.
And I will develop it myself, on my own, because it is my idea and if people don't bother finding out my idea I see no point in employing their help to develop it into a reality.
And should I need people's help I will seek it only after making sure that things get done remaining true to the idea and nothing goes wrong in any ways possible.
This make it sounds like I try to do everything to the best; then again it is not really the case and I do choose to mess things up all the time too.
Only the things which interest me I'll like to do well in.

Sounds like perfectionism; even more so when you factor in how perfectionism can breed procrastination because perfectionists tend to not start on their work until they can be 100% sure that they can do it perfectly.

And with this flaw things will almost never get done because there's almost never a perfect moment to start doing things perfectly.
You just have to start.
Learn to pick things up; as well as letting go.
Bad habit which I am trying to kick and am still trying.
But the most common example which relates to me, sketching, is something I've yet to done in ages.
And then I'll use Scouting and whatever as an excuse.
That is when I realize I'm still doing it.
I'm just so-called waiting for the right time to sketch, even if I have the inspirations and ideas on what I want to get out of it.
And that's why, things never get done.

It might just be due to that, or other reasons, but it is really convincing me that art is not something for me.
And all these thoughts and thinking and various other stuff are just persuading me to go on with Psychology, even towards the path of being a Psychologist and not just a typical undergraduate with a bachelor's degree in Psychology seeking a typical office job.

Woah.
How much have I strayed already.

Still gotta wake up early later on so perhaps I should leave everything else for another time...
Should really go to bed soon.

Gonna ball again later on, hopefully it will be a damn good session.
My shooting definitely got to improve man.

Need to go for interview on Monday too, thankfully it's just at Eunos and not anywhere far far away in some place I've not been to.
Hopefully I can secure this not-too-bad job, if it's really as slack as what Andrew Justin said.
Flexible hours which pays well and what would allow me to focus on Scouting too.
Would be so much more awesome were I to have a laptop which I can use to work on during the time I have nothing to do.

Well before that, there's another assignment next week, short 6 days one just to keep myself occupied.
Kinda regret a little accepting it because now I find the need for that period of time to do more meaningful stuff.
Well but going to work couldn't hurt much too, and it certainly doesn't sound like an extremely tiring job anyways.
Not like the pay's anywhere good but hopefully I'll get something good out of it nonetheless.

Well shouldn't have much to talk about anymore.
I'll probably be back here again next week; unless I get so busy or tired or lazy.

Ohh something I've forgot to mention, just want to say that this weekend is probably the first in this year which I've not gone out for Scout-related purposes.
Well I did go for Scout meeting on Friday but at least the Sat and Sun is untouched.
From what I remember, every other weekends had been used for meetings, camps, other Scout-related activities and such.
Not too sure abt CNY but I think I remember still having such meeting or what either on Mon or Tues, which is an extension of the weekend anyway.
I really wonder, if not on Scouting, where would all these time had gone to.

Over busy, busy over.

Had a pretty hectic weekend.

Especially so when compared to the other days recently.

Started off with a visit to the temple on Saturday morning, followed by Mum going to Giant and thus me and Dad to take a look around Courts and Ikea for a while.
Back to home after quite some time and it was just a little more before I had to head to the airport for another leaders' meeting.
Took quite some time for everyone to reach and the meeting to start, as usual.
And took an even longer time for it to end, obviously.
We still had to leave before 12am though, one of the reasons we chose airport as the location since it restricts us on the time and would probably help to end our meeting on time.

Well, we did leave by 12am, the thing is, we went to Jalan Kayu to have supper and continue talking instead, after we got ourselves a vehicle to transport us.
Maybe I should not have went since I gotta wake up early the next morning, but well, I did anyways.

Reached home around 4am and had only a few hours to sleep.
Woke up just before 9 and headed out for basketball session.
Ended up at Fengshan CC since Eunos CC was being used for some function or what.
Finally played ball after almost two months of not balling.
And finally got to try out my new shoes too.
It was just splendid.
Great shoes.
So glad I got Huang Rui to help me get them.

Went home around 1pm to have lunch and supposedly to rest up a bit.
Didn't rest at all in the end.
Sort of expected that to happen anyway.
Got out for movie at 3.30pm, Ah Boys to Men 2 with PLCo7.
I won't say that the movie is a really good one, but it was definitely one to have hit the right spots in people's hearts, especially with those who had served the nation.
It is a nice movie, but definitely not a great movie.
That being said, I, similarly to many others, was reminded of my BMT times too and all the memories I had in the army.
Good times, good times.
And really fun times too.

Straight after that, went to chill a bit around before going to airport to meet the first year platoon 5 commanders.
Been a while since I met them and it was definitely good seeing them again, especially with Tim flying off in less than ten days for his studies.
Had a good dinner with them and eventually most of the other commanders turned up as well to send the men off to Brunei.
Was great seeing the men too, though it was pretty heart-breaking listening to how effed up things have gotten since we left.
Ohh, Hilmi and I met up with a few of them last Thursday for dinner too.
And from what they said, things were really bad but I hope they were just exaggerating things like they always do.
Seeing how the commanders are still sort of surviving gives me at least a little hope that things are still not so bad and could take a turn for the better anytime soon.
Well, they are all in Brunei now, probably all settled down and getting ready for training soon.
Two weeks isn't all that long anyway, but still hope that all of them would train well, do their best, and return safely two weeks later.

And I only returned home at 2plus and still slept pretty late as well.

That marks the end of my hectic weekend and now I'm back to usual boring days.
Which I am actually feeling relieved about since I just had my share of being a busy man and had enough of rushing everywhere having doing so many things all at once.

Sometimes I truly wonder why can't my schedule be more spread out instead of squeezing many events at one time then leaving me with no idea of what to do at all at another period of time.
Just a weird trend I observe but probably not something I have much control over as of now.

I should probably not wake up so late anymore though.
Sleeping early is still a pretty tough thing for me, but at least I should try waking up early.
Then as I wake up earlier and earlier, I will eventually start to sleep early.
Right? No? I certainly hope that's the case but I still have to start waking up early in the first place.

Nostalgia caught up with me again as I felt the sudden rush over me wanting to watch or play Pokemon again.

This is of course not something new, just as with how I felt with every other things which remind me of the past.
But I do wonder if spending time, and not just a bit of time, every now and then on the past is healthy or not.

Especially when the time I spent doing so are usually after midnight, and even if I do it in the day it usually takes up an entire day.
That's how powerful nostalgia is.
At least for me.

But I am really considering spending a little more time to watching some Pokemon anime, be it the old first few seasons ones, or perhaps trying out some new ones to see how things have changed but how some things still stay the same.
For example, Pikachu.
Remembered seeing an episode of Pokemon just last year or so, and seeing Pikachu is already enough to invoke all the feelings I had in the past regarding Pokemon.
They sure chose a good enough mascot to represent Pokemon and to promote it.

And since they are going to come out with a new game this year, a new generation even, I am actually thinking if I should invest in a 3DS just for this, and of course so that I have another form of entertainment too.
Sixth generation of the Pokemon franchise already.
Wow. How time flies, right.
In time to come I'm sure I will find out if I really would give it a try once more, and seeing how successful Pokemon was and still more or less is, chances are trying the new game might turn out to be a good choice after all.

But for now, it's bed time again.
Getting on to my bed just as some are getting out of theirs is seriously killing my brain cells and various parts of my body slowly.
And even knowing that doesn't stop me from doing so.
Sigh.

>>Ohh and looking at my Facebook news feed now, it just reminded me of how I got into this situation of spending my past hours on Pokemon and stuff. OMG facts actually just posted "9 facts even Pokemon superfans don't know" hours ago. Thanks OMG facts. What else can I say man.

Easier said than done.

Chinese New Year as usual.

So was the usual comments of "less CNY atmosphere" which seemed to have appeared since years ago.
Is it because we are all growing up, or that the society is advancing to a stage where traditions and cultures are not of as much importance as it was in the past?

Then why isn't anyone doing anything about it?

Things happen. And people are always willing to talk, comment, discuss about them.
All these. All except doing something about it.

Nonetheless, some things stay the same regardless of all the changes that are going on in our lives.

These two days, today and tomorrow, will probably be just boring rest time for me.
And while sometimes I do dread the boring, nothing to do life of mine, I know that once I get busy nothing is gonna get any easier too.

Sigh. The contradiction and the never-ending desire of men to always move from where they are to somewhere which seems better, but only to them at that specific point of time.

Living without regrets, cherishing the little things in life are probably the mindset people should take.
Then again, this is easier said than done, what people do best is always using their mouth instead of anything else.

Well, using their hands now, since nowadays people are typing and typing more to voice out their thoughts, opinions and ideas rather than actually using their mouths to speak about it.

Just like what I'm doing now.

Shall try to keep myself occupied meaningfully until Friday where there are actually things on my schedule to complete.

Well, then again, easier said than done.

The before that.

And it is the same period of time that nostalgia overwhelms me once more.

Digging up every old stuff kept in my room in an attempt to tidy it up, I was only delayed again and again by the discovery of certain old stuff which invokes my deepest memories.
Deepest yet the most faint memories.

And all I have left of my childhood are just a few photos and faint memories of various incidents and people.
Faint faint memories of certain people.

"Memories are reconstructed every time you think of them."
This is what they say and yet it is the truth.

I wonder how my memories of the past would be modified by myself another decade later; and how would my memories of my life now be ten years down the road.

Sleeping this late every night probably is the most damaging to my memory.
Sigh.

Two more days to CNY.
Omfg.
Not really prepared but well my room at least looks a lot better and much more like my room now.
Haven't buy clothes too.

Too lazy to think or do anything else.

Let's just get this over and done with and see life goes from then on.
Really strong feeling I won't be able to find a good job or get driving license either...
