Stuck in reverse.

So the past week after the end of my Sem 1 was pretty not bad.

Let's just start from where I left off again.

Stayed my last few days in CAPT before checking out on Thursday late afternoon.
Packed my crazy load of stuff, 95% of which are still left unpacked in the bags right beside me in my room now, and got ready by 4plus or so when dad and mum came to pick me up.
Went back to the east and went to visit the newly opened Bedok Mall.
Was pretty impressed by it 'cause I really didn't expect it to be of such scale and the variety of shops is crazy too.
Well, not crazy, but just out of my expectations and that is a very good thing.
The amount of Macs and Bux is seriously so high in Singapore though, it's like in more developed areas you can get to a Macs or Bux every few steps.
Kind of exaggerating there but you get what I mean.

Finally got home in the evening and it simply feel so damn good to know that I will be staying home for good and no more "book-in book-out" for this next one month at least.
Well not that I dread stay in CAPT obviously 'cause of the amount of time it saves for me on travelling (the amount of time translated to money is probably about just as much as what I have to pay for it though, and time is money money is time), but I guess I still just dislike the "book-in book-out" feeling since army.
Still had to get back on Sat though for Fledgling Week meeting...
Sigh sort of like a waste of time but well okay hope things go well from then on.
Still quite a long way to go before we really have to do some stuff but seeing how time flies from O Week till now that Sem 1 is already over, I can already foresee how we would be starting our Year 2 soon enough...
Better make good use of my time till then, even 2013 is ending real soon already.

Can't really remember what I did on Friday.
Probably didn't do much.
And I picked up DotA again, well, DotA 2 to be specific.
Still not used to the graphics but hopefully I don't get so used to it that I still continue playing it so much when Sem 2 starts.
Just some simple way to entertain myself and pass time for the time being.

And then it's Sunday.
The day for our S1 bbq at Jason's condo.
Somehow I turned into so-called part of the organizers but only because I really appreciate Jason's initiative in wanting to hold a bbq for us and if I'm going for it I would like to see it well conducted and not screwed up.
Kinda disappointed with many many things though.
The weather and stuff.
But I guess the turn up rate wasn't too bad in the end, and most importantly the people enjoyed it too.
Hopefully the next time I will be able to get double the amount of people to come, don't even know if we have so many people though.
But anyways I just meant that I hope to get everyone to turn up.
Really like this OG so much so I don't wish to see us eventually scatter apart, just like how 2r6o6 still manage to organize chalet every year even though not everyone is entirely united together or what.
Just hope that there's still something more we can do since only one semester has passed so far.
And come next year too hopefully everyone will be able to come back for Arts O Week at least and crash Arts Camp too if possible.
It will be so awesome 'cause S House is really more than a house and more like a home.
Well shouldn't think too much about it though 'cause orientation camps are just like a part of university life and there's still this big academic part to it.
And after screwing my sem1 up it will be really wise to just mug so damn hard to make up for it in my sem2.

Ohh and managed to catch second half of Arsenal-Everton, 1-1 final score.
So happy that we managed to score late in the game and then Everton had to equalize sigh.
Still 5 points clear though so I guess we just have to build on the momentum and carry on ahead strong.
December is a tough month but we'll make it through.

And my trekking trip with NUS Rovers to Malaysia is cancelled thanks to the flooding situation.
A little bit relieved upon learning about the news through the message they sent because having the trekking trip sort of split my holiday into half and I know I won't really be able to do anything until I can get it over with.
But now I'll have the entire holiday to myself and whatever I want to do, one whole month until school starts again.
Well there's still driving, don't even know if I want to continue learning now or what.
Probably will only take the test some time next year, maybe after Year 1 ends too.
Will see how...
Most importantly now is probably to unpack and organize my stuff that I brought back.
And get myself really organized so I don't mess my life up.
Then plan really well for my mods next sem hopefully to have people to take mods with for each and every of my mod 'cause that will be simply great.
Learnt how I shouldn't take mods on my own 'cause it's just boring and sad.
And also to find lunch buddies early on.
And then still many many stuff to be organized about.
And it will all start with myself 'cause I really gotta start getting myself moving in the right direction.
And I just used a fourth 'and' to start my sentence; sometimes I feel like my English really sucks when I blog because I seem to have really really limited vocab and bad grammar as well.

Simply always moving but no moving on.

And how else can you move on when you're stuck in reverse?

Unresolved matters.

So it's over.
Semester 1 of my uni life is now over.

And what else is there to look forward to other than the start of semester 2?

Didn't have the mood to blog although I would really like to note down what's been happening while I was at home; well, alone in my room now at 1.44am and wanting to sleep but knowing that I won't be able to fall asleep just gave me the right opportunity to blog.

Continuing from the last post...
Chinese Studies was a total wreck I guess.
Somewhat expected, just hope that the results will come out as a pleasant surprise instead of a complete disappointment.
Already rather mentally prepared about my sem1 results though.

Went for 2SIR ORD function that night.
Pretty nice seeing everyone, commanders and men alike, the whole battalion gathered together to celebrate the end of the mono, and of course, the impending ORD of all the NSF.
And still Bravo had the most first year comds attending the function.
There's just something we can't explain about being so attached and bonded despite how frequent people like to complain 'bout being in Bravo, about our OC, about NS and stuff.

Coincidentally Chan and Zai were in Shagri-La for their company buffet event thing too.
So met up for a while, took some photos and stuff.
Really too bad that I didn't get to take more photos with the men and all though.
Well all of them had came a long way to reach here, and I'm sure they became better men and will do well in their lives after army.

So Psych on Tuesday.
Did some last minute studying which sort of didn't really help much either.
MCQ was rather alright, especially if I'm lucky.
SAQ didn't look that good though.
Totally didn't know if what I was writing is what they're looking for or not.
B- isn't a problem, but I'll really hope for an A to pull my CAP up.

And the following three days was supposed to be intense studying for Social Work which up till then I haven't been studying reading revising at all.
Key words: supposed to be.

And that means it didn't went that way.
Time spent on studying; a lot.
Actual studying and studying efficiency; as low as ever.
No motivation either, even when I clearly know that I gotta do well to not screw up my CAP further.
Not even hoping to pull my CAP up with it, just hoping that it doesn't lower it any more.
Even with that I can't bring myself to study hard enough for it.

And comes the paper on Sat, all I can think of is how I'll finally get to ball again after the paper.

The paper was not manageable at all.
Essay questions came out unexpected topics and I just had to make do with the limited amount of knowledge I have.
Really praying hard that I'm super lucky enough to score on the MCQs though, but seriously, just getting 60+ for this paper should be relatively good already.
Or maybe even 50.
Combine that with how I only got a B- for my assignment which contributes 25%, boom.
Not that I wish for others to fall, but hoping that many would do worse or at least as bad as me is the only chance I have at getting a decent grade.

I'll just be glad if I don't see a 2 in front of my CAP for this sem.

Went home Saturday night feeling I don't know what to feel.
Seriously.
Finals is over but I guess if you didn't put in effort for what you're going through, you just won't get the sense of satisfaction when it ends.
Rather the sense of relief is what I probably felt.
Okay that sounded eerily similar to something I've said at one point of time in the past, be it some exams or what, I think.

But that's just how I've been doing things anyway.
Always trying to scrap through, doing the bare minimum, doing what's enough to just carry on with life and never putting in everything I've got.
Ironic I know, for a Scout who's supposed to be the best that one can be.

Anyways, visited NPC Open House on Sunday.
Really great that Dolphin and Grizzly decided to drop by as well, giving us a free ride to Sarimbun.
Stayed with Marcus for the campfire after Chandan went back with them to study for his paper the next day.
It's actually the first time I've been to NPC.
It always feels good to be back at Sarimbun though.
Really feels good.

Campfire was just so-so, but being in Sarimbun, around the fire pit, seeing 53 troops together with everybody else, old or young, that's what mattered most.
And campfire is still campfire; Scouts love campfires.
Announcement of results was delayed though, heavily.
And we somehow gotten Bronze, which is really a bonus.

Got out immediately after everything ended since Dad was already waiting outside for us.
It's just so great to have an awesome Dad like him to be able to come pick me up all the way at Sarimbun even after ending work so late and even to send Marcus and Owl home.

Then Monday is just stay home time for me.
Did nothing much.
Hopefully it's not how I gonna spend my days throughout my vacation.
I'll really appreciate some days like this once in a while though.
Got back her in CAPT to stay for the last few days as well as to pack my stuff up.
Really freakin' dumb that even though we're staying for next sem as well we gotta bring out stuff home and check out by next Mon 12pm.

Next few days probably just gonne be basketball, stay in room watch shows, maybe going out at times if there's any chances, and I really don't know what else other than to sleep like I've not slept for a week.
Well the last thing sounded like a total waste of time though, shall try not to do that at all.
Then on the 18th it's trekking at Berkelah Falls with NUS Rovers.
Still gotta be back here on 10th for their briefing so mafan.
And how are we supposed to prepare for anything if the briefing is conducted just a week before the trek itself?
Shall see how it goes, and hope that I can survive the trek with my current fitness level.
And speaking of fitness, gotta clear my IPPT by December and I still don't think that I can run Gold timing for 2.4km but don't really feel like training too sigh.
I really wanna run for Gold though, not for the money, okay well the money's pretty important too, but also to be able to stay in the Gold IPPT Club.
I already dropped out of it for Year 0 IPPT though but whatever that's not official I didn't have to take it anyway so just work hard now for my Year 1 IPPT.
And there's still driving.
Sounds like I've got freakin' lots of things to do some are fun and some are not and I don't know where to start because I'm just getting the feeling that I've got tons of things to do but what I really want to do is just to lay there and wait for time to pass, hoping that things happen by themselves and every single problem will be solved miraculously.

That's not gonna happen though.

And this is when things pile up and you just wanna shut off from the world but you know it's impossible and you have nowhere to go.

Funny how finals are over but things just got even more complicated and when the future is uncertain you can only take a step at a time and hope that you don't fall somewhere and never be able to get up again.
Finals over is a good thing by itself, but sem1 over just means that 1/6 or 1/8 of my uni life is now gone and never coming back.
Maybe I think or worry too much at times, and yet doesn't do anything about it; but over-thinking is just one of the things I do best.

When I actually start doing things instead of simply thinking so much, things will be better.

Step by step, go forward.

One down. Three more to go.
Two in the next two days, and the final one on next Saturday.

Died once, three more times to die for.

Last week was all just about studying for finals.
Or rather, studying for psych.
Spent my days just to read and revise psych, with only Fri for stats since it was on Sat.

And then I made this decision of going for 2SIR ORD Parade which cut my studying time into almost nothing.
Studied overnight on Thursday to ensure that I can finish what I need to for psych, ended up getting up only at 1plus on Fri.
Bing Jian messaged me saying that he's receiving the Best Soldier Award; really tempting me to go visit them but I still thought that I need to stay and study.
Somehow my reply to him wasn't sent through at that time.

Then hours later as the rest are making their way to AMQC, Shafiq happened to be at Buona Vista still waiting for MRT.
And blah blah blah a twist of events and I ended up meeting him to cab to AMQC.
Missed like first half of the parade, but still at least got to catch up with the rest, commanders and men.
Especially those who won't be attending the function tomorrow night.

Reached back CAPT at 9plus and didn't exactly do much before trying to sleep, and I still failed to fall asleep as usual.
Didn't know what I was doing when I switched off all my three alarms the next morning and continued sleeping.
Somehow woke up all of a sudden at 8.40am, 20minutes left before the paper starts.
Rushed down and ran across college link to SRC to get to the exam venue at MPSH6 on time.
Luckily managed to get there in time and I even got to fill my bottle.
Paper was really tough though, to me.
Sigh hopefully I'll not do too bad for it; or rather, hopefully everyone else does badly for it too.
Just praying that I'll end up on the right side of the bell curve ultimately.

Thankfully dad came to fetch me after that 'cause I wasn't in the mood at all for a 2hours MRT and bus ride.
Went home and just slacked my whole day away.
Caught the last episode of 我可能不会爱你.
Tried to read a lil at night but I just literally read a lil only for Chinese Studies.
Spent a bit of time this afternoon trying to study for Chinese Studies, and I really have almost no idea what I should be studying on.
Sort of gave up already.
Just hoping that I don't fail this module.
And hope that my assignment get like A or what although that will be next to impossible, and even a A for 20% can't really help much if I screw up my 50% for finals tomorrow.

Let's all work hard next semester.

So CH at 1pm tomorrow, then it's 2SIR ORD Function at Shangi-La Hotel at night.
And then psych at 5pm on Tue, followed by 3 days of ideally intense mugging for Social Work on Sat.

Everything's gonna end so soon; just as Sem 2's gonna start soon after that.

And I have no idea what's coming up next for me either.

Just taking one step at a time, hoping that I don't take the wrong step and drop into the abyss of no return.

When forward's the only way to go, you continue walking forward no matter what.

Had a good meal today treated by JJ the birthday boy.
Well, birthday man. Whatever. It's a week past his 21st birthday already.

And I realized that I actually forgot about last Wednesday and simply blogged like nothing much happened lol.

Well anyways, last Wednesday was Terry's birthday and the rest of PLCo7 came over for a mega birthday surprise.
Was studying in the library when it started to rain while Chandan, RW and GY made their way to Clementi for dinner as well as to buy the cakes.
Wasn't really keen to travel out to meet them due to the rain and my laziness but it's really been a while since we were able to meet GY so decided to just head over for dinner.
It has really been a while since the 6 of us meet up too, and luckily GY took leave for the whole of Nov but... didn't tell us until the night before that day zzz.

So after dinner, bought the cakes and headed back to my room while waiting for JJ to come over from hall.
Received intel that Terry is already back in his room so we moved out once JJ reached.
Surprised Terry with his cake before we brought out another cake for JJ as well and it was just a good old talk cock session among the 6 of us for another hour or so.
Then finally the three of them cabbed home at 11plus with JJ tagging along to go back to KR.

And it was then when I sort of tried to sleep early I think, but didn't really succeed in doing so although I still woke up early in hope of spending the entire Thursday to study.

So we were intending to catch a movie just now, before dinner.
And the plan got cancelled since half of us were late.
A great dinner at Swensen's and don't know when will it be that the 6 of us get to meet again.

Finals really approaching soon, and here I am blogging away at the comfort of my home.
Shall try to read some more of my Chapter 15 before sleeping.
And really really at least finish it tomorrow before heading back to CAPT tomorrow night; and from then on it's hopefully just hardcore productive mugging all the way.

Ohya just remembered about how I wanted to read my readings for CH bit by bit every night before sleep so at least I can somewhat know a bit and don't screw up so badly.
Okay shall just do that now and if I can still take it then read 15.

Ohh and one more thing, watched The Leap Years just now.
The previous and also the first time I watched it was probably a few years back, back in JC.
A really nice show and I'm pretty glad that I stayed home to catch it.

Byeall.

Sunday, November 17, 2013

The days are long; the weeks are short.

And now I'm just one week away from finals.
Less than one week.

Past week had been a blur, as usual.
Had my last tutorial on Monday and my last lectures on Wednesday.
Studied overnight in the library on Monday and although I thought I was pretty productive in the sense that I didn't slack much, it still took me the whole night to simply make notes for one chapter of psychology.

Ohh and before that, watched Arsenal vs Man U on Sunday night at Bt Timah Beauty World macs with Chan, Zai, Ibrahim and Gary.
Saddening result which really got me depressed for quite a while, and extremely sensitive to people wearing Man U jerseys outside now.
Even on Mon itself, I just feel like anytime I turn my head around I can at least spot one guy wearing Man U jersey and it's just so pissing zzZ.

Woke up late on Tuesday and had no idea what I should do for the day, wasn't in the mood to do anything anyways.
Went to buy the Taiwanese chicken chop for lunch and went over to Eskimos to chill with Chan and Zai since I had nothing to do till 4 anyways.
And there goes another day.
4 to 6 was last session of Pursuit of Happiness and after that it was basketball time with Denie and Leonard until about 8 before going back and not sure what I did after that.

Then it was Wed morning and I decided to go for both stats and CH lectures.
Back to CLB to study in the afternoon... only to find out that it's crowded as crap.
Went to 3rd level expecting to find a good seat and it's extremely crowded as well omg.
Really don't know what's going on zzZ.
And it was then that I experienced the feeling of getting kicked out of my own house sigh.

Tried to sleep early but still ended up only falling asleep at around 2plus?
Woke up early on Thursday though and went over to CLB to study.
Freakin' cold morning made me damn sleepy for the whole morning.
Had lunch with Chan then decided to chill a while so we went over to Eskimos.
Brought my stuff down to study but the sleepy feeling doesn't seem to go away.
I sort of already lost the mood to study then anyways...
Went back to CLB and got to level 3 in an attempt to try to study again.
Still cannot.
Went to Deck to get a waffle in the evening while deciding if I should head to level 6 or find a bench outside to study.

Ended up at the bench at the split path from AS1 leading to AS2, 3, 4 and it happened to be the most productive period of studying throughout the day, when I supposedly already studied since morning 9 or 10plus all the way to 5plus zzz.
Played classical music while studying and it was sorta delightful to study to it; Vivaldi's The Four Seasons is just so nice.
Stayed for quite a while before heading back to CAPT for dinner.
FINALLY finished my Chapter 14 ZZZZ and now I'm still just on 15, still got 16 and 2 to go sighhhhh.

Went back to CAPT at 8plus 9?
And decided to go with western for dinner...
Didn't really take note of the different combinations for western and somehow ended up getting seafood salad for dinner.
Don't even know why did I torture myself after a day of (failed) studying with a plate of veggies.
But well, whatever.
Went back to room and was really in a dilemma of if I should try sleeping and waking up early to study again or just study all the way till late.
Felt a lil sleepy so I decided to just sleep at 10 and to wake up at 5.
Woke up once at 11plus, went to toilet and got back to sleep.
Everything is good.

Then I woke up at 12.30am.
And I laid on the bed for more than an hour helplessly.
Finally I gave up and decided to just fill my stomach and see what can I do before I'm able to sleep again.
Ran out of cup noodles so had to walk to Cheers to get some, came back, had a good supper and a can of Anchor while reading a bit of psych.
Anchor really helped and I went back to bed at 4plus.
Got up at 7 to have breakfast with Terry before sleeping again till 11plus.
Went to CLB after that to try and study until it's time for basketball.
Almost immediately went for lunch instead, after meeting Pearly in the library.
Then Kian Ann and Aaron came along, don't think I had the chance to really sit and chill with them throughout the sem at all, and definitely not with any of the other guys too so saddening sigh all take different mods.
So we had a good time sitting down and just chilling after lunch, until just before 2 since they had to go for their tutorial at biz.
Went back to CLB, met CQ, and went Deck again to accompany him to buy coffee.
Lepak at Deck, AGAIN, before going back to CLB.
What an unproductive yet good-to-chill day it was.
Finally managed to just sit down and study, for like an hour plus.
Then Kelvin came along and inform me that psych midterm essay assignment result was out.
Got a B+, well, still rather okay I guess.
I took on the harder question when everyone I knew chose the easier question; and without even knowing if I did what I was expected to do, I guess I should be glad for getting a B+.
The first two results of my friends that I knew of were both A- though, giving me the impression that generally people did well.
That was when I was terribly wrong when I asked another two friends about their results and felt so so so so bad 'cause they really didn't do well for it.
Sigh got affected so much that I couldn't really study after that and was just simply waiting for time to pass before I go for basketball to de-stress a bit.

Went over to Raffles Hall to find Kenneth and to see him for the first time ever in NUS.
And he was dota-ing when we agreed to meet up and go over UTown at 4.30pm, wasted all our time in the end zzZ.
Well anyways finally got to play ball with them again and it was a pretty good session; except for the fact that our opponents are kinda rough.

And that I got bruises here and there after playing.
And that left side of my upper lip is now swollen and blue-black and I probably just look like shit with that.
Well screw this shit.

Got back, showered, and Dad picked me up to go home as usual.
Damn shagged out thanks to basketball but still slept late, ended up somehow with 9hours of sleep and got out of bed only just before 2pm.
Had lunch and went to meet RW in town to pick presents for JJ and Terry.
And after finally coming back, decided to drop by NAS to visit the Scouts for NPC training.
Came home at 7plus almost 8, settled down, dinner, and it's the usual Saturday night TV.
Second last episode of 我可能不会爱你, and the show is coming to an end just as our first semester is ending.

And I didn't study at all after coming back home, again.
And that's what I'm gonna try doing soon.
Hopefully I will be productive later and finish up 15.

Dinner tomorrow with PLCo7 and probably only going back on Monday.
From then on it's just hardcore (hopefully, and most importantly, productive) mugging all the way till finals are over.

Byeall.

Two weeks.

Forgotten to blog the last weekend.

Would really like to pen down all that has happened from then till now but I'll probably not be able to do it.
Shall just try to take down anything that I can remember from the past one and a half week.

In no chronological order...

I managed to not eat lunch alone for the whole of last week; and this week too, somehow.
Almost ate YTF for five days this week, 'cept today.

Arsenal beaten Dortmund 1-0 at Signal Iduna Park, becoming the first English team to do so after doing the same at Bernabeu, San Siro, and Allianz Arena.
Watched the match at my living room with my two other neighbours, what fun.
And wifi was surprisingly not bad for the past few days... hope it carries on this way.

Finally handed up my CH assignment today.
Spent the last two days sorta chionging for it.
Well the total time spent is probably less than six or maybe max eight hours though.
Just that I was just being the usual unproductive me.
But still, it's really not that bad to be able to produce this in two days.
They asked for 3000 words, I gave them 4000; now I just hope I get a decent grade for it.
And that I really must pass this mod if not I'll regret for life about taking it zzzzZ.

Had my last CH and SW tut last week, and PL2131 tut on Tue.
Now only left with PL1101E tut next Mon which I feel like ponning again but probably gonna get back essay or what so I should just go for it.

Ohya and stayed over the last weekend, only got back home on Sun morning thanks to burden happiness project which isn't happy at all.
Watched the last 30mins of Arsenal-Liverpool match after that, lousy wifi and no good streams pissed me off.
But at least I watched just in time to see Ramsey score.
This guy simply can't be stopped now man.

Hmm what else...

The last week was pretty tough with two tut to seriously prepare for, then CH assignment this week and stuff.
But now that everything's over it seemed rather alright...
And the only thing to worry about is finals which starts in exactly two weeks' time for me.
Two weeks to catch up and revise.
Two weeks to do it all.

With all distractions away now, sort of, I am gonna work so freakin' hard from now on.

Just these two-three weeks.

I will do it.

Press on, people.

All the best.

Had forgotten to blog over the weekend while I was home; shall just do it now then, since I have a rare working wifi in my room anyways.

Could've blog during weekdays if my wifi works well all the time though, instead of just leaving blogging to over the weekends.

Anyways, shall start with last week... now what did I do hmm...

Oh yea I stayed home for another night on Sunday, and only went back on Monday.
Didn't really accomplish much 'cause, well, I was home, and home usually means unproductive.
But whatever.

Went for stats tutorial and it was okay, then it's library time again.
Can't remember about lunch, probably had it alone sometime in the afternoon when there's less crowd or what.

Then stayed on until I had to get back to UTown for my junior sem.
Blah blah blah and it was night and I went to run.
That's all I guess, either I'm getting old and have super bad memory or I just didn't do anything memorable at all.

OHYA there was the Arsenal match.
So I ran and got back and shower and was gonna just nap a while and lepak till the match.
But got jio-ed by neighbour to have a drink so well, might as well, even though it was too early but doesn't matter.
Anyway Arsenal lost to Dortmund and it was a really late goal not a match worth remembering maybe that's why I couldn't recall what happened on that day initially but well whatever haha.
Went to set up my area for the match at 1plus, got myself a good spot under the fan beside a socket and in the middle of nowhere but just a lone table with me, myself and I on the first floor of Stephen Riady Centre.
Well it did get a lil creepy but I guess I couldn't care less since I just wanted to watch the match.

And then I had to face the ultimate dilemma of choppy but superb quality stream VS smooth but lousy quality stream.
Ended up alternating between the two at various points of time and it was really demoralizing when Lewondowski scored the winner at 80+mins...
So bad that I self-declared a free day but I already really wanted to do so anyways and would've do so to celebrate too if Arsenal won anyways hahah.

So ponned my stats and Chinese studies lecture and had a good sleep before heading over to... yes you got it, library, again in the noon.
Not sure who I lunched with but probably just myself again omg why is my life so sad right but it doesn't really matter actually because life goes on whether you eat with people or alone.
Hmm and now I can't really remember what happened on Wednesday either...

Either I really have a bad memory or I didn't do shit and both are really bad sigh.
Ohh but I probably met Aizhen and Xueting in the library again, see them in the library so much that I don't remember which are the days that I see them.
I do remember that they knew about my self-declared free day though so yeah.
Stayed there till late again, I think?
Or maybe not that late 'cause I know for sure that I came back for dinner then had the time to run before sleeping.
What I don't remember is what time did I sleep at and when it's another free day on Thursday it's hard to track where did my time go and where did I myself go, as in, other than Central Library.

Anyways, just know that I met Clarence in the library, and also Vincent, Shi Kai, Melvin and of course Tay Lin and Aizhen were in as well just not sitting with us.
Finally felt like I'm not so alone anymore 'cause I get to sit with many people, then again, it might not be good too since there were like too many people.
It's been quite long since I met Vincent though, and it's so weird since we were like almost always in the library.
One and a half week of not seeing him feels weird though lol.
Had lunch with Chan again on Thursday, and Mon and Thu are like the only days that I knew I would most likely find people to lunch with.
Tue and Fri are more or less random and Wed is just mostly alone, with Fri having a high chance to eating alone as well.
Moving on, back to the library and people come and go and come and go.
Soon there was just Vincent and me and Emmaline came along.
And it's study time till late and I don't even know what time did I leave the library again probably 7 or 8plus.

Same thing, don't even know if I did anything at all after I come back but an intelligent guess would be no.
OHHH and I got scammed by Terry to have breakfast at 7am so I went to bed AMAZINGLY EARLY AT 11.
Okay actually 10plus, and managed to fall asleep at 11plus.

Freakin' miracle I swear.
And I woke up at 5.30am and did some PT, showered, and guess what Terry boy actually messaged me at 1am to change breakfast timing to 8am just well done sigh.
Although I more or less expected that but I still went to bed early 'cause I just wanted to try sleeping and waking early for once.
And it felt pretty good actually.
Just don't think that I can make the transition now and seeing that it's already 1.42am and I have a tutorial at 10am and I'm still here typing... yeah it will definitely take me some time to tune my body clock.
All I know is even if I manage to start sleeping early on a regular basis, I'll definitely still miss the late nights and the silence and darkness and everything about the after midnight to before dawn breaks.

But well, I can try making that up by waking up at 5am though, sounds pretty good that I'll have 2 hours or so of midnight equivalent on a daily basis and still a full day ahead of me, and especially when I still get like 7 hours of sleep if I sleep at... 10pm.
Okay that just sounds too damn early.
But for now, I think I should try sleeping and waking up real early on Thursday nights and Friday mornings.
And maybe when next sem I have no choice but to plant a lesson at 8am, I'll be forced to do this weekly
Even with lessons at 10, I don't really give a shit and just sleep late anyways.

Okay that was a long story on my Thursday night to Friday morning and now moving on to Friday later part of the morning.

Had breakfast with Terry at 8.
And the time before that? Spent like 30mins and took like tens of shots of the sunrise while adjusting my ISO, exposure, contrast, saturation and every other setting and I managed to fiddle with in order to capture the perfect shot of sunrise as much as possible from my room.
And stupid neighbour left his window half opened blocking my angle and the roof on top as well and all but okay I did manage to get a shot I was pretty satisfied with.
I don't think I'm a really really perfectionist perfectionist, but I should stop trying to be so perfectionist.
Other than being a possible cause to procrastination, perfectionism really just makes you put in an unequal amount of effort to achieve a not-as-great results.
Okay that sentence was just anyhow but it's something like diminishing returns.
You will continue to put in so much just to get closer to perfection, and the closer you get the steeper the curves become, and you put in so much more just to cover that little distance towards perfection; is it all worth it?
And in the end, is what you achieve really perfection?
Most often than not, it will not be, it will be just another close-to-perfection-yet-still-not-perfection thing that you spend so much effort to achieve.
And if only you can put down the persistence to pursue perfection much sooner, life might be so much more easier and happier.

Well anyways, doesn't seem like I can do what I say anytime soon.
And it annoys me to not be able to do what I say but well we are all learning, understanding something and doing something are two different things.
One possibly leads to another though.

Went to library again soon after breakfast, reached like just before 10.
And shikai came in soon after, probably one of the most improbable person I would've imagined to see since Fri is a free day for him.
But well, him being him, came to school to do his assignment.
And it's a long story but Fri just wasn't a good day for me I guess.

I understood what sitting in an emotional roller-coaster meant and although it's not like I didn't really understand or even went through it, it just occurred to me that this term came out so well to describe my day, even if it's a lil exaggerated.

Got back to my room at 8plus and got all packed up and ready to go soon after dinner.
Took MRT with Leonard, my neighbour, since I met him on the bus stop and he was on the way home too.
Went to nex to walk around while waiting for dad to knock off so he can fetch me home from there.
And even though there wasn't much to see, at least there's Popular.
Too bad it was already closing and 10minutes was all I have to stroll in it.
The music they were playing was pretty nice though.
And so I had 30minutes or so to spare and I spent it just sitting and waiting at the pick-up point.
Well, not 30minutes there, I could've died by doing so but probably around 15minutes at least.
Met Melvin and his gf at nex too, what a surprise encounter.

So I probably really went there at a wrong time.
And if I wanna shop and look around more, I should leave by 6plus 7 latest I guess; and if I just want to travel the distance so that dad won't have to come so far here to fetch me, I should probably leave at 9.

Lessons learnt and this week I shall apply them, that is of course unless I'm gonna study till 10pm in the library.

Okay it's close to 2am and it feels good to once again record down my life here.

Eh wait, just when I thought I was done, I realized that I've still got Sat to today to cover.
Okay, might as well right.
Shall do it fast so that I can sleep soon.

Sat was normal, stayed home again.
And at night was the usual watch TV with mum too.
Ohh family watched Ah Boys to Men 2 on Fri night after watch the first one two or three weeks before?
Didn't watch much of it since I already caught it in the cinema.
Okay so Sunday was dad's birthday.
Went to Crystal Jade Kitchen at Tmall to have lunch and some shopping of groceries before going back home.
Didn't do much, as usual.
Ohh but I managed to complete SW assignment to a completion rate of 99% or so on Sat though so all is good.
Really have freakin' lotsa things to be done but I guess slowly but surely I'm handling them well.
And my only major concern is my 3000 words essay for Chinese Studies.
Well it's not exactly the only major concern but...
Shall just see how for now.
And work hard.
And do what I can and pray for the best.

Came back CAPT on Sun night.
Couldn't sleep again and then couldn't wake up again.
Only managed to really got out of bed close to 12 omfg it's damn bad and rushed over to arts to have lunch with Aizhen Xueting and Elaine.
Library after that, duh, and it's library all the way.
Well, had psych tutorial and it's in library's training room too anyway so I just went even though I was quite hesitant about going and I half regret going but it's not really like I'll be able to do much with the time I spent in there anyway.
Studied for quite a while more before coming back at 7plus then it's just dinner, back to my room to read for SW tutorial then finally got to run with Jia Hao again, on my usual route and back here to lepak till now.
And the route is only like 4.2km sigh and I'm taking more than 22mins for it.
Probably not too bad timing considering the slopes and stuff but doesn't seem like I'm improving much even with my weekly runs.
Gotta maintain running at least twice a week to really improve I guess.
And my aim was to keep it under 20, just don't know how long I'm gonna take to hit that timing.
Have to clear my IPPT by Jan though, and I would really like to get Gold which means 9.44 for 2.4km and that means really need to push myself.

So the week has just started, but it's really gonna end soon, just like every other week.
It's less than a month to finals; and just more than a month to our first holidays in uni life.
Not sure how I'm gonna manage with so many things, and I don't even know why it seems like I've so many things to manage when I'm not in any CCAs or what but I'm just like busy.
But we shall see and hopefully I can do some magic at the end of the day, or rather, at the end of the sem.

CH tut tomorrow, gotta present; SW tut on Thursday, gotta present as well; Stats assignment 2 coming out soon and due a week after it's released; and finally my dear 3000 words Chinese studies essay due on next Fri.
Really can't study much when there's so many assignments and things to do.
But hopefully after next Fri, it will be full force studying for finals, even though that means I only have like two weeks remaining...
At least I'm quite on track for stats, just that I lack practice but understanding isn't really an issue.
Almost no readings done at all for SW and CH but whatever, I can probably get a not-too-bad grade for SW, especially when I will have like 3 days to just study for it after my first 3 papers.
And for CH I just really pray that I can pass it.
Psych is one major issue, pun intended, and while I believe there's no problem in getting the minimum requirement of B- to major in it, B- just isn't good enough and I'll need to see an A- at least, especially when I take into account how possibly badly I might do for CH and maybe even SW...

Okay a big part of psych's grade still depends on the term paper which we haven't got back though, and it's 30%.
With that 30% and midterms' 30% already fixed in place, I can only hope that I can get the most out of the remaining 40% for finals to get my desired A.

And shit just got serious when I suddenly remembered about the group project for Pursuit of Happiness to be presented next Tuesday...
One week to finish a group project with so many other things going on.
Good game, seriously.
Well my three other group mates are all from biz so I just gonna assume that they're good at rushing projects and stuff and all I can say to us and really just everyone now is simply, ALL THE BEST.

Byeall.

Sunday, October 20, 2013

It's all good or I'll like to think so.

And yet it's the start of another week ahead.
Week 10.

Already Week 10.

And it felt like we just started school not long ago.

And it always feels like I didn't accomplish much in the week that has just passed.
Well, not that I did nothing, but just that it's probably far from what I set out to achieve initially.

Both CH and SW assignments still barely started; one due in ten days, the other in about two weeks' time.
And in between I just feel like there's so many other things waiting for me to do still.
Only one tutorial in even week though so let's hope that I gonna be able to complete my shit soon.
Perhaps will try to finish my week by Wednesday by attending the SW lect then so that I have two free days right after to chiong through my work.
Will see how it goes.

Now for the past week...

Finally managed to eat the xiaolongbao we've been talking about for so long; unfortunately, it sucks.
Luckily we just ordered one basket to try out first, ended up having prata next door again.

Monday was just lunch, lepak, make-up CH tutorial followed by psych tutorial.
And that's all for the day.
One good thing is that I didn't go to the library that day.

Well not exactly that it's good, but it's an achievement and a combo breaker as well though.
Had dinner with Terry since I met him on the bus back to UTown.
Watched "This Is The End" from my laptop and I really expected it to be funnier but oh well, perhaps I just wasn't in the mood for US humour at that time.
Went running after that too.
And then it was overnight study time~
Wasn't productive at all though; can't even remember what I did other than reading and reading.

Sat outside for like 4, 5hours until the storm came and forced me into Starbucks.
Spent a bit more time there just to wait for dining hall to open so that I can have breakfast when I get back.
Finally got back to my room at 7plus after breakfast and it was time for a good nap which was not-so-deserved because of how unproductive I was.

Woke up at don't know what time, probably 1 or 2plus.
Went to lunch at koufu then travelled to FASS to find a good studying spot.
Ended up spending probably a quarter of the time taking photos and acting like I'm on a photography trip rather than studying session.
Second time that I didn't visit the library in the week. Yay!

Although it's because that it was closed, but anyway...
Went back and probably didnt' do much again, maybe I watched Criminal Minds but can't really remember as well and then it was bedtime soon.

Went for the PL2131 lecture which I really regretted going so I decided to sleep through it after 30minutes to make up for my loss of sleep.
Then it was CH lecture which wasn't really helpful as well and then back to FASS for lunch.
Met Kelvin and YG at Deck so ate with them then it was library time again.
I know how unproductive is really really being overused by me but that's exactly what I am so I'm just gonna say how unproductive I was at the library again.
Went back earlier since I was planning to run but my plan failed terribly after I accidentally fell asleep for... 2hours from 9pm to 11pm.

Ended up doing nothing much again after I got back to my room before sleeping again.

SW tutorial was alright I guess, didn't really prepare much but also didn't really cared about it anyway.
Went to library to study for a while before meeting Chan for lunch after that.
Back to library again and at least I wasn't alone for the day finally.
Yi Li finally came to school in like don't know how many years and managed to meet so many people in her rare visit to school.
Managed to study quite a bit but not exactly much too, just readings of psych textbook again.
And I haven't even completed notes on Chapter 11 and 12 when Chapter 13 is already coming up in this week sigh.
Studied till late before going back again.

Fri wasn't much different from usual.

Almost woke up late, rushed to LT9 for SW lecture, had a waffle during the break 'cause I was too hungry, and then library after that.
And I actually didn't have a proper lunch that day somehow.
Managed to tank through till 5plus where I had dinner at Deck before going back to change up for basketball at SRC.
Played for a while before my leg cramped zzz maybe I'm getting old.
Went back to shower and pack up before heading out to nex to wait for dad so he doesn't have to drive all the way to NUS to pick me up.
Shall do that more often since usually I'll be waiting in my room doing nothing for that 1, 2hours other than waiting anyways.
At least I can get to walk around a bit or what at nex or maybe even somewhere else and dad doesn't have to drive so far and we can save more time and reach home earlier as well.
Unexpected heavy downpour on the way back though, and that's how Week 9 of school ended for me.

Didn't do much over the weekend as usual.
Went all the way to HQ for pilot programme briefing yesterday morning, after only being informed like on Friday night of what is it about.
Briefing actually supposed to start at 1.30pm but got scammed into arriving at 10am and I actually reached at 9.30am somemore zzzZ.
Had my entire day burned just like that but learned of how the Scouting world will be undergoing insane changes in the next 2 to 3 years or so.
Seriously, woah. Mindblowing.
Well, but whatever, in the next 2 to 3 years I'll still be struggling with my books notes and stuff.
Got back only at 8plus and simply watched TV all the way.
Sorta started searching for articles online for SW portfolio assignment and slept at 5plus because I like it, well, sort of.
Woke up at 3plus today and it felt so good but so terrible at the same time knowing that my weekend is gonna be over just like that again.

And it's raining outside yet again, continuously.

And I feel like eating ice-cream now.
Therefore I shall end this post here.

Week 10 now.
Just a month away from finals.

Press on, my friends.

Ohh and just remembered too, midterms results are out.
Got just slightly above average for both my papers.
And although I expected so, I'm really unhappy not because of my results but because of how much unproductive time I spent in the library.
Yet I'm still not really able to push myself forward and do what I really need to do.

There are just some problems I gotta solve, quickly.

Byeall.
